A Lancashire Stream
 Oil on board, 6"x8"

Done on the spot with a few minor changes later at home. I started another painting after this one but the weather changed and it became very blustery. My shade umbrella blew inside out, it rained heavily all over my palette, and the plastic bag with my waste brush cleaning tissues blew all over the field. I must have cut a comical figure scrambling around in the wind and rain trying to retrieve them. Still, all in a day's painting I guess; especially in our weather.

  1. I like this one. yes if it weren't for the weather our painting could be a lot easier. Monet had it too easy I reckon.

  2. .... and as I was saying .. I like the observation and treatment of the water and the figure is a very good addition, giving another dimension to the painting.
