At last, we had a really still sunny day yesterday and late afternoon I was able to walk down to the shore as the tide was falling. Both paintings were done on the spot with no later adjustment. The views are across the river toward Sunderland Point. When the tide is high it looks as though the houses on the opposite shore are floating. The sunset was magical in the quiet stillness.

Done on location. It's a short walk from home across the marsh to the river accompanied by the sounds of Redshank and Curlew.

I havn't uploaded recently. This is a small plein air sketch done after work a few months ago. This is another great location which I'll try to get back to soon.
