Flooded Wood
Oil on card, 6"x8"
A very quick sketch this afternoon. This is a really nice spot near Abbeystead. It's going to look fantastic when all those Bluebells are out.

  1. Fantastic work Paul. I know Abbeystead quite well.

  2. Thanks Tom, the spot's just down the lane from the parking area by the river, looking through the trees on the left.

  3. Paul, have you not considered arranging painting days with you as a paid tutor/guide? A kind of "plein air workshop". I'm totally rubbish at painting, but would love to accompany you and I'm sure others would too.

  4. Hi Tom, I didn't reply to this straight away because I've been thinking about your suggestion.
I think the best thing to do would be to arrange to meet up at some local painting venue and take it from there.

  5. Sounds great Paul. I'm normally at our caravan in Scorton every weekend, but our Boxer Dog has just had puppies, so we're stuck at home for the next couple of weeks.

I'd love to join you sometime soon though - how would I get in touch?

    Tom

  6. Hi Tom, the Grizedale valley and Nicky Nook area is a good spot close to Scorton. I've been meaning to try there again for a while. My email address is added to the about this site blurb above. Drop me a line and we can set something up. Paul.
